I found 2 CD's that my dear aunt had purchased. One in 1985 for $4000.00 in trust for me & the other in 1987 for $2500.00 in trust for my sister. Both were automatically renewable. She never mentioned them to us then she had a stroke & couldn't talk. She lived with me until she died. She had an old suitcase in her closet full of postcards, pictures, letters etc. & I just never went through it until my brother decided to move in & wanted her room. That is when I found the CD's..

The bank that they were from had changed hands several times so I started there with the bank that had it then, Bank of America. They said they had no record of these CD's. I then checked with the comtroller of currency who also found nothing. I then checked with FDIC who had nothing who told me to check with missing money who also got me nowhere. I have been told that if a bank cannot find an account holder that they have to turn the money over to the state which apparently they didn't. So, where did the money go? Don't I have the right to know? Where do I go from here? I am a poor old lady struggling to make ends meet as is everybody else. I just had to bury 2 of my children in the past 2 years & can't even get them headstones.. I am sorry to be crying on your shoulders but have just about had enough. Please, can you guide me in the right direction? I would be ever so grateful.

God's Many Blessings for all you do to help others., Sincerely, Maggie
